Clifford Chance advises a club of banks on financing the extension of Centrum Černý Most
Clifford Chance has successfully advised a club of ING Bank, Erste Group Bank AG, Erste Group’s Czech subsidiary, Česká spořitelna, and Komerční banka on the EUR 268,000,000 facility agreement in connection with entry of a new JV partner and the ambitious extension of Centrum Černý Most, one of the leading shopping destinations in the Czech Republic.
The transaction supports Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield's investment into expanding and modernizing the shopping center. This investment will significantly enhance the center's retail, dining, and entertainment offerings, reinforcing its position as a premier shopping and leisure destination.
Located in Prague, Centrum Černý Most is among the top shopping centers in the Czech Republic and a key retail hub since its opening in 1997. It is part of a group of the most prominent "A-listed" shopping centers in Prague, which includes Westfield Chodov, Metropole Zličín, and OC Nový Smíchov. Notably, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield owns three of these premier centers, showcasing their dominance in the Czech retail market.
Currently offering 176 shops, the expansion of Centrum Černý Most will increase the number to 213 by 2025. In addition to new flagship retail stores, the development will introduce a state-of-the-art Dining Plaza, featuring 22 restaurants, and three premium VIP cinema halls with advanced laser projection and Dolby Atmos sound technology.
The Clifford Chance team advising on the deal was led by Milan Rákosník, counsel, with significant contributions from Tereza Boguská Řehořová, senior associate, Jan Christelbauer, associate and Šimon Pavlas, junior lawyer.
